Lets start with skin prepping before applying makeup!

Flawless Makeup application looks amazing only if you have prepped the skin with lots of love before that dab of foundation and concealer and while you may reach for a primer, it is not the only way to enhance your look.

First, you need to determine your skin type, whether it is dry or oily. Once you have figured that out, we can dive into effective ways to prep both dry and oily skin.

Step 1

Face cleanse - The skin needs to be clear of all dirt before you start applying anything else. A gentle massaging on the face with your face wash will help other products settle and absorb better into the skin.

Step 2

Ice Pack - icing your skin improves blood circulation and adds a glow. it also helps to reduce any puffiness, cools down acne bumps, and shrinks your pores. Use ice from your freezer or you can even buy an icing roller.

Step 3

Alcohol-free toner - Many people overlook toner, but it should be an important step in your beauty routine. The purpose of a toner is to swipe away any leftover dead skin cells, makeup, or other bacteria that your cleanser might have missed. Notice what comes off of your skin.

Step 4

Moisturize - Before applying makeup, you will want to use a lighter moisturizer. Make sure that your daytime moisturizer contains at least SPF 15 to protect your skin from the sun. If you struggle with breakouts and/or oily skin look for oil-free moisturizers that are non-comedogenic. If you have dry skin you can look for creams that are a bit thicker to wear during the day. A thicker cream will also give you a more dewy look. For your night event, the cream should not have any SPF. Just dab the moisturizer with your fingertips and don't massage it into the face and of course, use a lip balm.
